My new (to me) van is a dark green Ford of "a certain age", much like me. Well, I'm not green but I do have a few miles on me. I have named her "Petunia".
Now, I have found that if you treat your cars with respect by giving them a name and petting them for a job well done they will respond much like most men. In other words, they will be reliable, comfortable, easier on the pocketbook and more inclined to be responsive. A little gift now and then is also beneficial.
So I gave Petunia a pair of earrings. They are small mirror covered replicas of disco balls that were in style in the 1970s. These are very DIVA car earrings - they sparkle and dance around as Petunia and I go down the road.
I think Petunia likes her new earrings. Petunia is now a DIVA car and I think Petunia gets better gas mileage since she's gone DIVA.
Your stories are as colorful and fun as you are, Terri!
ReplyDeleteI like Petunia and I have found the same thing to be true. I've had some cars longer than I had a husband! LOL
I wouldn't mind having a pair of those earrings for the Pa-jamming party in Daytona.
hehe.. I'm sure Petunia loves the new Diva'ness of her disco ball earings. Cute.. :)
ReplyDeletePam - Petunia says thank you. She is resting today and needs a bath.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I have seen mini disco ball earrings at the dollar store - I should have bought a pair to match Petunia!
Karlyn - Petunia is now angling for new shoes (aka tires) but she will have to wait - I have a plumbing issue that is #1 priority on the fix it list this week, lol.
